We are extremely happy that we’re opening a position of Senior DevOps Engineer for our development office in Brno, the Czech Republic. 

We plan the designing, deploying and maintaining scalable, highly available and brand new event driven Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure. We are looking for the right person who will own and manage the deployment of our SaaS products across our entire infrastructure.

You will be the platform expert across our development, testing and production environments, ensuring we are meeting our customer SLAs by monitoring a range of system metrics across the platform. You will understand our cloud solutions both now and as we scale, proactively addressing issues before they develop. You report to our CTO and Engineering Director and work closely with them to ensure our software is properly configured, subscribed, relevant and efficiently managed per our strategic goals. 

You will also manage and administer all the tools and systems required to fulfill these requirements across our internal and remote teams, and preferably be able to help oversee our IT systems.

Who we are

Logimic company founded in 2017 provides IoT and IIOT applications for industry and municipalities. We focus on wireless control of industrial devices and wireless data flow from device to cloud and web and mobile applications. We help our industrial partners to equip their products with hardware, software and cloud infrastructure to meet their IIOT and Industry 4.0 requirements. We provide software services to our customers and also build our own IoT products.

We have customers across the Europe, UK and the USA and are continuing to scale up our commercial activities with the recent launch of two newly developed and upgraded SaaS solutions: Predict (intelligent machine analytics and condition-based monitoring) and Impact (Energy efficiency, carbon calculations and water/air/gas/electricity monitoring) in one single platform for use by site managers and C-level executives. 

To be successful in the Senior DevOps Role you will:

  • Have proven demonstrable experience designing, implementing and supporting hybrid and cloud infrastructure for public facing applications. (We primarily use Microsoft Azure and AWS and plan others.).
  • High level of experience using plan, build and release solutions, sprint and swimlane trackers.
  • Have a solid understanding of edge and cloud applications in SaaS environments, for example MQTT, VPN services, API’s, Sparkplug framework and more.
  • Continually monitor, benchmark and report on performance and uptime requirements on both internal and customer  SLAs and KPIs, for the solutions that we build and support. This includes working with tools such as Grafana, Prometheus etc. When performance issues occur, you will propose technological or procedural solutions, and manage their resolution, to meet SLA’s and on an as required basis.
  • Demonstrable expertise with hands-on experience working in an agile environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the wider DevOps, testing, development and innovation teams to understand the needs of the business and customers.
  • Support further designing, implementing and testing our architecture as we continue to scale up our operations. You will be able to propose multiple architectural solutions for infrastructure, providing the pros and cons of each, assisting in the decision of the final solution taken going forward. You will then take ownership of these solutions, maintaining going forward.
  • Have experience with CI/CD pipelines, along with the ability to implement these from scratch for our new products.
  • Define and apply standards regarding infrastructure and software releases.  
  • Provide support and mentoring to Junior Engineers, regularly sharing knowledge in mediums such as documentation. You should also be able to responsibly escalate and delegate rising issues to the appropriate individuals where necessary. 
  • Own and evolve our processes to escalate issues as they rise and provide the necessary communications.

Location

Our HQ is located in Brno, the Czech Republic, we have a hybrid flexible working environment and require employees to be onsite 2-4 days per week on agreed days. For the outsourced position, their place of work will be their local location, but they will be required to occasionally work from the Brno office. Our development teams are located in Brno and Chesterfield UK and the communication language is English.
